Sheffield City Flying School will relocate to Robin Hood Airport and Sandtoft Airfield following the closure and redevelopment of its current base, Sheffield City Airport.

The flying school has acquired the lease on Sandtoft Airfield and aircraft to become the sole operator of the site which is located in Belton near Scunthorpe. It will split its services to offer tuition from Sandtoft Airfield and Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster and independently manage the nine hangers, runway and facilities at Sandtoft.

Robin Hood Airport will permit circuit training and student solo flights, something prevented at Sheffield City Airport. As a result, Sheffield City Flying School expect the bulk of their existing 250 plus members to opt for Robin Hood Airport rather than Sandtoft.
